Poppies at the Tower of London

Tower of London poppies, Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, Tower of London,
On Saturday morning we went to visit the Tower of London. I had seen them on the news and I would love to see them myself. Though we didn't went inside, it was quite an impressive sight.

This evolving art installation is filling the tower moat with 888,246 hand-made ceramic poppies. Each one represents a British military death during the First World Ward, which broke out a 100 years ago. The last poppy will be planted on 11 November.

We arrived around 10:15AM and it was quite busy already. You could buy a poppy for 25 pounds (+ P&P), of which 10% will be shared equally among six service charities.

  7. If you have time to visit them, they are there until some time November :]
And as long as you don't visit the tower, it won't cost you 22 pounds.
